Welcome to the Cormac Finn McCarty Foundation!   We are a foundation dedicated to improving our community by offering hope and assistance to families who are facing a difficult time.  For the last six years, this small neighborhood in South Riding, Virginia has sent a message of hope to the families who live there -  What happens to you, happens to us all.  They are a neighborhood who cares about the people who live there, and will do whatever it takes to make a difference – one family at a time.

Thank you for visiting us!  We hope you enjoy learning about the many families who have touched our lives.  They were all forced to experience a very difficult time in their lives, yet with the help of people who care, they are all moving forward and making a difference on their own.

While teachers at Little River were working on report cards, 4th graders Emily Kavanaugh and Megan Fisher were using their day off from school in Arpril to do something for their community.  They decided to do a lemonade stand and at the same time ask their customers to support their favorite charity, the Cormac Finn McCarty Foundation.  They made the lemonade and sold it for $0.25 per cup. However, if their customers made a donation of any amount they got their lemonade for free.  They also had home made cookies chocolate chip cookies to offer to encourage a generous donation.  Even with heavy competetion, with at least 4 other lemonade stands in close proxitmity, the girls were able to raise $35 in about 2 hours.  The girls gave 100% of the profits to the foundation.  Way to go girls!  Lets hope you have inspired other children to join the FUNdraising experience!
